New Google Analytics 4 Features [June 2024 Edition]
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) has introduced a few new features that promise to improve your data analysis capabilities. These updates are not only useful but also fill gaps that have been long-standing in the analytics toolset. Let’s dive into three of the most exciting additions: the Compare feature, the Export to Google Sheets, and the Export to Explore. (If you want help with using these new GA4 features for your business, please contact us and our GA4 consultants will be more than happy to help).
The Compare Feature
Finally, GA4 now lets us compare different segments of our website traffic within standard reports. Here’s how to use the Comparison feature.
Go to a Standard Report and click on Comparison icon the Top Right.
Select a comparison or multiple comparisons.
Once comparisons have been selected, the Standard Report will show data for these specific comparisons.
You can also create your own Comparison by clicking on the + Create new button.
Enter conditions for the Comparison you want to create.
Exporting GA4 Standard Reports to Google Sheets
Another feature that many users have been eagerly awaiting is the ability to export reports directly to Google Sheets. Previously, users had to download reports and manually upload them to Google Drive. Now, you can export GA4 data directly into Google Sheets and perform data analysis in Google Sheets. Here’s how:
Click on the Share this report icon on the top right and select Download File.
Then, select Export to Google Sheets.
Exporting GA4 Reports to Explore
In addition to exporting standard reports to Google Sheets, you can also export them to Explore. In Explore, you can use dimensions, metrics, and filters to analyze your web data in greater depth.
Viewing User Numbers Over Time: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly Chart Format
You can now view the overall trend in the number of users to your website in daily, weekly, or monthly formats.
GA4 continues to rolls out new features to help us better understand and analyze our data. If you want help with using GA4 data to improve your website or marketing performance, please contact us and our GA4 consultants will be more than happy to help!
